Wednesday, December 17, join us at FAM—a salon for artists & creators in film, fashion, art, music, and media—for an intimate conversation with Anthony DiMieri, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and satirist. Anthony worked on the campaign of Zohran Mamdani as part of the media team, he recently debuted his new film Love New York which won “Best Feature Film” at Bowery Film Festival, and has been behind the camera on NYC’s beloved series Subway Takes and Keep the Meter Running.
Anthony DiMieri's work threads the needle between comedy, politics, and absurdism, carving out a distinctive voice in independent film and viral content creation. He started making films in the second grade with his mom's camcorder, and by age 25, his phone was ringing off the hook with Hollywood executives eager to adapt his viral indie sitcom Bros into a TV show. Though that deal never materialized, the journey took him to Los Angeles where he trained at UCB, formed lasting creative partnerships, wrote numerous screenplays, produced shoots in Paris, and even made a music video with Tommy Wiseau. After returning to New York in 2018 he co-founded Melted Solids—a creative agency specializing in video content for progressive candidates and organizations that has helped elect numerous politicians and served as the initial video team of New York's next mayor, Zohran Mamdani. In the last three years he's been behind the camera on Kareem Rahma's Subway Takes and Keep the Meter Running, and his new film production company Luce Nera Pictures has recently produced four independent feature films, including his directorial debut Love New York and the soon to come horror-comedy Romance Never Dies.
